The four primary JAMB subjects you need to take to study pharmacy at Nigerian federal, state, and private colleges are covered on this page.

Pharmacy JAMB Subject Combination 2023/2024

English Language, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics are the JAMB subject combinations for pharmacy.

This means that in order to enroll in a pharmacy program in Nigeria, you must take the aforementioned four UTME subjects in order.

The primary subjects for pharmacy in the JAMB are:

  1. English Language
  2. Physics
  3. Chemistry
  4. Biology

Pharmacy Direct Entry Jamb Subject Combination

You must study the following Direct Entry Pharmacy subjects:

Language: English

2. Physics

3. Chemistry

4. Biology

You can study pharmacy at UNILAG, UNIBEN, UNIUYO, UNILORIN, ABU, LASU, UNICAL, OAU, UNIZIK, UNIPORT, and UI among other institutions with the JAMB Use of English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics exam.

Is Math A Requirement For Pharmacy In JAMB?

For pharmacy students, mathematics is not a REQUIRED subject.

This implies that you can study pharmacy without mathematics at any Nigerian university.

However, the four (4) required subjects for pharmacy in the JAMB are English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

NOTE: You must have at least a CREDIT in mathematics and English language in your O’level scores in order to pursue pharmacy in Nigeria.

If you have a D7, F9, or E8 in Mathematics, English, or any of the other mandatory necessary subjects for Pharmacy in JAMB, you should not apply for admission to a pharmacy program.

All Nigerian universities accept the UTME and Direct Entry subject combinations listed above for pharmacy students.

These include private, public, and academic institutions that offer pharmacy.

In order to enroll in a pharmacy degree program, you must pass the JAMB-required topics, regardless of the school you choose to attend following your Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Conditions For Pharmacy Studies In Nigeria

1. You must have at least CREDIT passes in your O’level results (WAEC, NABTEB, or NECO), including English and Mathematics in no more than two (2) sittings, in order to study pharmacy in Nigeria. Some schools, though, insisted on one sitting.

2. On or before October 31 of the admissions year, you must have reached the age of sixteen (16).

3. Achieve the pharmacy cutoff in your school.

4. Possess strong JAMB, WAEC, and post-UTME scores, if applicable.

Direct Entry Conditions For Pharmacy Studies In Nigeria

1. Five (5) or more credits at the Ordinary Level in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) in no more than two (2) sittings.

2. A degree in a comparable discipline with a First Class or Second Class Upper.

3. If you want to apply for Direct Entry, you must pay for the form through your school and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

4. A National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), or other Advanced Level Certificate with a minimum Merit Pass.

5. Additional qualifications that are comparable to (1) and (4) above and are accepted by the Senate of the university of your choosing. Candidates must additionally meet such Faculty/Departmental entry requirements in addition to the aforementioned minimal admission requirements.
