2023–2024 Jamb Subject Combination for Computer Science
The JAMB subject combinations for computer science are English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
This means that you must take the JAMB’s UTME in the four (4) subject combinations mentioned above in order to study computer science in Nigeria.

Does the JAMB require math for computer science?
For computer science, mathematics knowledge IS REQUIRED.
This implies that you cannot enroll in any Nigerian university to study computer science if you do not possess maths.

Nigerian Computer Science Education Requirements
1. To pursue computer science in Nigeria, you must have at least CREDIT passes in your O’level exams (WAEC, NABTEB, or NECO), including English and Mathematics in no more than two (2) sittings. However, other schools insisted on only one sitting.
2. 2. You must have turned sixteen on or before October 31 of the admissions year (16).
3. Achieve your school’s computer science cutoff.
4. Have excellent scores on the JAMB, WAEC, and post-UTME exams, if applicable.
Direct Entry Requirements In Nigeria For Computer Science Education
1. Five (5) or more credits at the Ordinary Level in no more than two (2) sittings of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE).
2. A First Class or Second Class Upper degree in a field that is comparable.
3. You must pay for the application through your school and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board if you want to apply for Direct Entry (JAMB).
4. A minimum Merit Pass on a National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma, or other Advanced Level Certificate.
5. Additional credentials that are on par with points 1 and 4 above and are acknowledged by the Senate of the institution of your choice. In addition to the aforementioned minimal admission requirements, candidates must also satisfy such Faculty/Departmental entry requirements.
The pre-admission screening test may still be taken by students who have selected the incorrect combination of computer science courses.
However, unless they choose to change their institution or program of study, such a candidate won’t be taken into account for admission.
Candidates who are affected are urged to carefully read the JAMB brochure in order to identify a course whose prerequisites match the subjects they studied for JAMB.
